§ Mr. Strangasked the Secretary of State for Industry when he expects to carry out his review of regional aids for areas due to lose intermediate area status in August 1982, having lost development area status in August 1980.
§ Mr. MacGregor[pursuant to his reply, 17 November 1981]: In announcing certain changes in regional policy on 17 July 1979 my right hon. Friend the then Secretary of State said that areas due to become non-assisted on 1 August 1982 having been downgraded by more than one step would be the subject of a special review before such descheduling took final effect. That remains the position.
