HC Deb 17 November 1981 vol 13 c78W
Mr. Critchley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied with the efficacy of his measures to prevent private radio stations broadcasting in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement on his policy.

Mr. Raison

The investigation of all illicit uses of radio is carried out by British Telecom on behalf of the Home Office. Within the limitations of resources and other demands on their services my right hon. Friend is satisfied that everything practicable is being done to prevent illegal broadcasting in this country.
