§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, pursuant to the answer of the Under-Secretary of State on 12 November, he will take steps to collect information as to the number of local education authorities in which the corporal punishment of physically or mentally handicapped children is still allowed.
§ Dr. BoysonI do not believe that this would serve a useful purpose, since my right hon. Friend does not intend to remove local discretion on these matters.
