§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will offer sufficient financial assistance to the Moredun Institute of Edinburgh to expedite the availability of vaccine effective against pasturella infestation of sheep, in the light of the high cost to sheep farmers of the unavailability of an effective vaccine
§ Mr. YoungerThe Moredun Institute of the Animal Diseases Research Association, financed by my Department, has been working for some years on the development of a vaccine effective against several strains of pasteurella. A vaccine has been produced, in collaboration with a pharmaceutical manufacturer, and is now being tested in extensive field trials. The results of these trials should be available next summer. Progress is not being impeded by lack of funds.
