HC Deb 12 November 1981 vol 12 c177W
34. Mr. John Carlisle

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what level of export restitution is being paid on exports of butter to third countries.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

As at 11 November, the general rate of export refund applicable to butter with a fat-content by weight of 82 per cent. amounted in sterling terms to £711.48 per tonne, net of monetary compensatory amounts. As a consequence of the food aid package for Poland agreed earlier this year, the corresponding figure for exports to that country was £901.61 per tonne. No refunds are payable on butter exported to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
