§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, pursuant to his answer of 17 December 1980, Official Report, c. 248, he will introduce legislation to require local education authorities to make grants in respect of any full-time course of higher education leading to a qualification which is required for, or facilitates, the pursuit of a particular profession or vocation.
§ Dr. BoysonMy right hon. and learned Friend has no plans in present economic circumstances to introduce legislation to extend mandatory awards to those advanced professional and vocational courses not at present eligible, but this is a matter which he will keep under review.
