§ Mr. Higginsasked the Secretary of State for the environment whether he will take steps to ensure that any reduction in domestic rateable value reduces the liability of domestic rates and water charges from the same date and to rectify the anomaly produced by the introduction of the General Rate Act 1967 and the Water Act 1973.
§ Mr. KingI have no plans to do so, but water undertakings can if they wish apply fo an order amending their local enactments to bring their provisions in line with those of the General Rate Act 1967.
