§ Mr. BlakerArms control activities are carried out by personnel in both the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Defence as well as in the major diplomatic missions and delegations to international organisations dealing with arms control issues. Many of those involved have other duties, often connected with other aspects of the Government's security policy. It is not therefore practical to provide a precise estimate of the amount spent annually on arms control. But the high reputation of the United Kingdom in this field demonstrates the importance of our contribution.
