§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science for how many postgraduate students a parental contribution is required; and what would be the cost of abolishing it for such students.
§ Dr. BoysonThis information is available only for those postgraduate awards which fall within the responsibility of central Government. With regard to these, a parental contribution is required in respect of some 600 postgraduate students. The cost of abolishing the parental contribution for these students, in the current academic year, would be £¼ million.
