§ Mr. Sproatasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list as exactly as possible the dates upon which each of the enterprise zones will come into full operation.
§ Mr. KingMost of the stages prior to designation are the responsibility of the projective enterprise zone authorities. We would hope to see Corby and Dudley designated in June; Newcastle/Gateshead, Salford Trafford, Wakefield and—if possible—Speke by the Summer Recess and Hartlepool in August. The Isle of44W Dogs must await the formal establishment of the London Docklands Development Corporation and should be designated by Christmas. The zones in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are the responsibility of the relevant Secretaries of State.
