§ Mr. MacfarlaneMy right hon. and learned Friend gave his assessment of the implications for the education service of the Government's expenditure plans, over the 267W country as a whole, in his answer to the hon. Member for Macclesfield (Mr. Winterton) on 16 December last year. There are no reasons for supposing that the implications in the Northern region will differ from the implications nationally.
