§ Sir Ian GilmourHer Majesty's Government deplore the violations of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights, the United Nations covenant on civil and political rights and the Helsinki Final Act represented by the unjust persecution of those in the Soviet Union who seek only respect for fundamental human rights. The Government282W will continue to press the Soviet authorities to fulfil the international humanitarian obligations which they have accepted.
