Mr. Foster

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many disabled people who are registered under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act 1944 for (a) the United Kingdom as a whole (b) the Northern region and (c) Bishop Auckland constituency for each year since 1974; in each case are unemployed; and what percentage of the registered disabled the unemployment represents.

However, as at April of each year, the date for which information on the total register of disabled people is available, the figures on the total number of disabled registered under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act 1944 and the corresponding information on registered disabled people unemployed within the United Kingdom, the Northern region and Bishop Auckland constituency, as defined by MSC area and districts, are as follows:
