§ Sir George YoungAccording to estimates from the Labour Force Survey taken in the period March-May 1979, the number of persons in Great Britain of working age—16–64 for males and 16–59 for females—who described themselves as being of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, West Indian or African ethnic origin was about 940,000.
