Mr. Grimond

asked the Lord Privy Seal what representations he has made to the Iranian Government to secure the release of prisoners of the Baha'i community and the prevention of persecution of that community, pursuant to the resolution of the European Parliament of 10 April 1981.

We have made no separate national representations to the Iranian Government. We are considering with our European partners what the Ten can do to bring home clearly to the Iranian authorities our concern at their treatment of the Baha'i community.
