§ Mr. Heddleasked the Secretary of State for the Environment, whether his Department or the Property Services Agency has received any representations concerning the workings of section 3 of the National Joint Consultative Committee code of procedure for selective tendering, particularly in connection with the costs of abortive tendering; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergI have not received any representation on this matter.
§ Mr. Heddleasked the Secretary of State for the Environment on what grounds the Property Services Agency recently altered its procedure on the publication of tender results; and what is the reason for discontinuing the individual notification of tenderers.
§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergThe only change the PSA has made is to discontinue, in the interests of economy, supplying every tenderer with a list of the firms who tendered, in alphabetical order, and of their tender prices, in ascending order of value, following award of the contract. The individual notifications which tenderers continue to receive, combined with the publication of the names of successful contractors and their accept bids, should provide all the information which contractors concerned require.
