§ Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will list in the Official Report those local authorities whose estimated outturn current expenditure figures for 1979–80 have now been checked by his Department in an attempt to reveal incomplete returns and incorrect figures; and if he will publish those expenditure figures in November 1980 prices for each authority concerned.
(2) if he will list in the Official Report those local authorities whose estimated outturn current expenditure figures for 1979–80 have not yet been checked by his Department in an attempt to reveal incomplete returns and incorrect figures; and if he will give a date by which the operation to check each authority's return will be complete.
§ Mr. KingSuch checks as it is possible for my Department to carry out are now almost complete. I shall write to the hon. Member with the figures he has requested.
§ Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish, for every authority in England for which figures are available, its estimated outturn of expenditure for 1980–81 in November 1980 prices as reported in the RER forms returned to his Department, during the spring of this year; and if he will list, with reasons, those authorities for which there are no figures.
§ Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now publish, for every authority in England for which figures are available, its budget estimate of current expenditure for 1981–82 in November 1980 prices; and if he will list those authorities for which figures are not yet available.
§ Mr. KingThe figures requested are shown in table A to the memorandum to the statement of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment on 2 June 1981, a copy of which was placed in the Library. Since that statement was printed, two authorities have sent corrections to their 1981–82 original budget figures for current expenditure. The corrected figures for their current expenditure at November 1980 prices are Trafford £54.307 million, Richmondshire £1.556 million.
