HC Deb 15 June 1981 vol 6 c283W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much of the recently announced package of European Economic Community aid for farmers in Northern Ireland will be a direct cash addition to the Northern Ireland economy.

Mr. Adam Butler

The package of European Community aid for farmers in Northern Ireland was announced on 3 April 1981. The element in respect of the beef cow subsidy amounting to £2.3 million in 1981–82 is additional to the planned level of expenditure in Northern Ireland. The receipts in respect of the other components of the package for beef development, agricultural development programme and feed grain processing and marketing have already been taken into account by Government in setting overall public expenditure levels.
