§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give all those cases where he has used or is using his powers to facilitate conservation as an incidental result of the grants he makes under section 29 of the Agriculture Act 1970.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerUnder the present capital grant schemes grant is available towards expenditure on a wider range of agricultural improvements. If some of the expenditure on an agricultural improvement is incurred for conservation or environmental reasons it may qualify for grant provided the overall claim is commensurate with the work carried out. We do not record the proportion of grant-aided expenditure which may be attributed to conservation or environmental reasons.
