asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list parts of the historic buildings on the Chance glass works site in West Smethwick, in view of their industrial archaeological interest.

Parts of the Chance glass works complex are already listed. The following buildings were added to the statutory list in July 1978The seven-storey warehouse and office. The double range of warehouses west of Hartley bridge. The warehouse between Hartley bridge and Canal bridge. Two warehouses east of Canal bridge. Hartley bridge, Canal bridge and Railway bridge.

In addition, my right hon. Friend recently considered the former school hall and headmaster's house on the site, but concluded that they were of insufficient quality to merit listing.
