§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Lord Privy Seal, pursuant to his reply of 19 February to the hon. Member for Southend, East, if the European Commission has now completed its revenue and expenditure account for 1980; and what are the consequences of these calculations for further refunds to the United Kingdom.
§ Sir Ian GilmourThe Commission transmitted to the Council on 1 June its revenue and expenditure account for 1980. This provides much of the basic data which will be used to make further calculations in order to determine whether any adjustments are necessary to the estimates of our refunds. Further data are however required; for example, information on the gross domestic product of member States is needed to determine entitlement under the financial mechanism.
