§ Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Trade what action he proposes to take to implement the first Council directive of the EEC to approximate the laws of the member States relating to trade marks and for a Council regulation on Community trade marks.
§ Mr. EyreThese two proposals for trade mark law in the Community are at present under consideration by the European Parliament and the economic and social committee, whose observations are unlikely to be received before the end of this year. The question of the implementation of any revised proposals consequent upon such observations will then be a matter for consideration 61W in the Council and progress here will depend upon whether an acceptable formula can be found to suit all member States.
