HC Deb 01 June 1981 vol 5 c265W
Mr. Ernie Ross

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he is satisfied with the current rate and scale of payment of (a) petroleum revenue tax and (b) corporation tax by the major companies operating in the North Sea;

(2) if he will take steps to eliminate the utilisation of "offshore" companies by the oil and service industries to avoid payment of taxation on their North Sea turnover, as described in the Scottish television documentary broadcast on Monday 25 May.

Mr. Peter Rees

I shall let the hon. Member have replies as soon as possible.
