§ Mr. MacGregorEstimates of output per head are published quarterly. Output per head in manufacturing industry fell by 7½ per cent. between the second quarter of 1979 and the first quarter of 1981. However, because of changes in the number of hours worked, this is not indicative of changes in productivity.
§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will publish a table showing for each of the last five years the average rate of return on capital invested in manufacturing industry in the United Kingdom.
