§ Mr. Norman LamontI have nothing further to add at this stage to what my right hon. Friend the Minister for Consumer Affairs told the House in her statement of 8 July. No solution that generally inconvenienced consumers would be acceptable to the Government. She also 299W made clear the Government's wish that the British Gas Corporation should maintain some consumer contact points.
