HC Deb 22 July 1981 vol 9 c138W
Miss Richardson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many people do not have entitlement to unemployment benefit because they are registering for part-time work only; and how many of these are married woman.

Mr. Peter Morrison

Information is not available on how many people are in this category.

However, during 1980 11,591 claims for unemployment benefit were disallowed by insurance officers under regulation 7(1)(a) of the Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations 1975. This regulation relates to unemployment benefit claimants who place restrictions on the terms and conditions of employment they are prepared to accept. There are no separate figures for women.
