§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total amount paid by the Housing Executive to management consultants and industrial training consultants in each of the last five years, and so far in the current calendar year; and whether he proposes to issue fresh directives to the Executive with a view to curtailing any excess expenditure.
§ Mr. David MitchellInformation on the Northern Ireland Housing Executive expenditure by calendar year is not readily available. However, I understand from the Housing Executive that the total amount paid to management consultants and industrial training consultants in each of the last five financial years was:
Year £ 1976–77 124 1977–78 1,497 1978–79 5,309 1979–80 30,486 1980–81 102,146 In the current financial year £13,277 has been paid to the end of June 1981.
108WI am considering whether any changes are required in the present arrangements for the employment of management consultants and industrial training consultants by the Executive.
§ Mr. Peter Robinsonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many sites for development by private builders were sold by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in each district in the past four years; and what is his estimate of the total number of dwellings that could be constructed on those sites.
§ Mr. David MitchellThis is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and I am advised that, during the past four years, the Executive sold sites for private housing development to building contractors and serviced plots to private individuals in three of its regions and the estimated number of houses which could be constructed is as follows:
Housing Executive Region Sites sold to Building Contractors Sites comprising Individual Serviced Plots Estimated Number of Potential Dwellings North East 5 3 471 South — 4 82 North West — 1 1 Totals 5 8 554
