Mr. Sproat

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the names of all the nationalised industries for which he is the sponsoring Minister, all the subsidiary companies of those nationalised industries and the names of all companies in which his Dapartment, or bodies answerable to his Department, have a majority or minority interest.

The only nationalised industry for which I am responsible is the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company. For details of this company and its subsidiaries, I refer the hon. Member to the company's annual report, a copy of which is in the Library of the House.

Although it is not strictly a nationalised industry the hon. Member may also wish to know that I am responsible for the Northern Ireland Electricity Service. The companies in which my Department, the Northern Ireland Development Agency or the Local Enterprise Development Unit have a majority or minority interest are as follows:
