§ Mr. PattieSubject to the final resolution of satisfactory terms of collaboration, British industry will gain approximately 40 per cent. of the total work involved in the joint AV8B programme for the RAF and the US Marine Corps. It is not possible to give a reliable estimate of the work share specifically for the avionics field, given that a large number of the equipment selection competitions have yet to be completed.
§ Mr. David Youngasked the Secretary of State for Defence what is to be the continuing British design contribution to the Harrier-AV8B project.
§ Mr. PattieSubject to the final agreement of satisfactory terms of collaboration, British industry will have design responsibility for the engine and for those parts of the airframe and avionics which it builds. Technical design data on the whole aircraft will be available to both parties.
