§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Employment what estimate he has made of the effect on unemployment of the free movement of labour within the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. Waddington[pursuant to the reply, 1 July 1981, Vol. 7, c. 357]: As I indicated in my reply of 24 March, employment levels are influenced by many different 525W factors and it is not possible to quantify with certainty the employment effects of membership of the European Community. The free movement of labour provisions constitute but one of many aspects of European Community membership having employment implications.
