§ Mr. FowlerI refer the right hon. Member to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Warwick and Leamington (Mr. Smith) on 1 December.
§ Mr. Boothasked the Secretary of State for Transport what were the levels of accepted expenditure, at November 1979 prices, for each county for public transport revenue support, highway maintenance and other current expenditure, capital and total in the transport supplementary grant settlements from 1980–81 and 1981–82.
§ Mr. FowlerThe figures are attached. It is important to note that £15 million expenditure on new maintenance vehicles and machinery was included under maintenance for the purposes of the 1980–81 settlement, but under capital for the 1981–82 settlement. An additional £30 million of capital expenditure by Tyne and Wear county council in the metro in 1980–81, financed outside the TSG system, is not included in table 1.
