§ Mr. Neil MartenWe have had continuing contacts with the Government of Jamaica, and with the IMF, the World Bank and other donors. In the light of these, and in view of Jamaica's urgent economic needs, the Government announced on 9 Jamuary that they had agreed to make a loan of £6 million to Jamaica from the aid programme for the purchase of goods from Britain. We expect the loan agreement to be signed shortly.
