asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what were the total numbers of (a) full-time staff and (b) part-time staff employed by local authorities for each of the past 10 years; and if he will break the figures down to show the numbers employed in each area of local authority services.

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the output of the non-housing construction industry in (a) the public sector and (b) the private sector for each of the last 12 quarters, in volume and value terms; and what has been in each case the percentage change from one quarter to the next.
