HC Deb 14 January 1981 vol 996 c536W
Mr. Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what were the terms of reference of the feasibility study recently carried out of possible road improvements on the western flank of the Clwydian range in, and in the vicinity of, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd, Clwyd, North Wales.

Mr. Michael Roberts

The terms of reference given to the consulting engineers were to report on possible schemes to improve a substandard section of the A494 trunk road with the elimination of the severe bends at Tan yr Unto and Cape] Llwynedd. The section of trunk road concerned was that between Pont Rhyd-dwrial and Ffynnon y Berth.

Mr. Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will now publish the broad details of each of the schemes considered by the feasibility study recently carried out of possible road improvements on the western flank of the Clwydian range in, and in the vicinity of, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd, Clwyd, North Wales; and what is the estimated approximate cost of each such scheme.

Mr. Michael Roberts

I do not intend publishing the feasibility study report, but I will be writing to my hon. and learned Friend explaining in broad terms about the three route options which have been examined. The costs of the three schemes are £2.2 million. £2.2 million and £3 million.
