HC Deb 13 January 1981 vol 996 c506W
Q32. Mr. Wigley

asked the Prime Minister if she will make a statement on the general progress of Government policy in relation to employment in Wales.

The Prime Minister

The first objective, in Wales as elsewhere, is to resore the health of the national economy. In addition substantial resources will continue to be available for job creation, industrial site preparation and advance factory building, particularly in those areas directly affected by job losses in the steel industry, and their assisted area status will be kept under review. Wales will also benefit from the special employment measures announced on 21 November 1980 by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment.
