Mr. Straw

asked the the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will review his decision to end assisted area status to Blackburn and other areas in the North-West.

Mr. MacGregor

The decision has already been reviewed in the light of representations from the North-East Lancashire development association. It is too soon to consider a further review.
