§ Mr. McMahonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many persons registered as unemployed in the Govan area of Glasgow are being prevented from gaining full benefits by the operation of the wage stop.
§ Mrs. ChalkerAccurate information about the number of cases at Govan unemployment benefit office, where payment of earnings-related supplement to unemployment benefit is restricted by the operation of the 85 per cent. benefit "ceiling", is not available and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. Based on a 5 per cent. sample, however, it is estimated that, at 8 May 1980, there were substantially less than 100 of these cases.
