An alternative measure of inflation is provided by the implied deflator derived from the current and constant market price estimates of gross domestic product. This is a measure of domestically generated inflation over the whole economy, including the effects of indirect taxes. Annual percentage changes in these implied deflators, based on information supplied to the Statistical Office of the European Communities, are given in the table below.
