§ Mr. EyreMy Department was contacted by an official of the National Union of Seamen in November 1980. A further safety inspection was not considered necessary since the vessel had been the subject of a random general inspection at the port of Colchester on 14 October 1980, when deficiencies in life-saving and fire-fighting appliances were required to be corrected.
