§ Mr. StanleyThe provisional total of Exchequer subsidies and local authorities' rate fund contributions to housing revenue accounts in 1979–80 in England was £1,988 million including rent rebates, equal to £400 per dwelling. The United Kingdom total of mortgage interest relief plus option mortgage subsidy in 1979–80 is estimated at £1,640 million, equal to £250 per mortgaged dwelling.
