§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Attorney-General if, in view of the confession made by Mr. Edward Scott of contacts with Czech officials while serving as a Foreign Office official, he will now prosecute him for offences under the provisions of the Official Secrets Acts.
§ The Attorney-GeneralIn 1970 Mr. Scott confessed to having passed a limited amount of classified information to the Czechs while serving in Prague between1956 and 1958. The papers, including the confession, were submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions, who decided in August 1970 that there should be no prosecution.
