§ Mr. Beithasked the Lord Privy Seal how much of the money allocated for the fee support scheme in 1981–82 has been distributed in the form of awards; whether the unallocated money is being used for the benefit of overseas students; and whether he is considering improvements in 125W the scheme to assist final year undergraduates and first year postgraduates as well as continuing postgraduates in the academic year 1982–83.
§ Mr. Neil MartenExpenditure on the fee support scheme is expected to be about £160,000 in the current financial year. The unspent balance in the scheme will be reallocated for spending elsewhere within the aid programme. The future of the fee support scheme, which was introduced as a temporary measure in 1977, is at present under review.
