HC Deb 14 December 1981 vol 15 c48W
Mr. John Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why he has not replied to the letter sent to his Department on 24 August by the hon. Member for Islington, Central concerning the possible closure of the Islington Brook advisory centre; and what advice his Department has offered about the further funding of this project through urban programme funding.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

I replied to the hon. Member on 9 December, with an explanation of the reasons for the delay. In my letter I said that I fully recognised the value of family planning provision within the NHS and the service given by Brook advisory centres. I am in touch with the Department of the Environment about the future urban programme funding of the Islington Brook advisory centre.
