§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, if he will make a statement concerning the decision of the Council of Ministers on 8 December on the European Commission's proposals "Social Integration of Disabled People: A Framework for Development of Community Action".
§ Mr. RossiThe Council considered the Commission's communication on the social integration of disabled people and agreed a resolution of Council and member States within the Council broadly endorsing the Commission's proposals. On behalf of the United Kingdom I welcomed the Communication particularly in the International Year of Disabled People. I took the opportunity to give examples of recent initiatives in the United Kingdom on behalf of disabled people which could have further applications in a European context, and I stressed the value of exchange of information and experience between member States.
