§ Mr. Freesonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will meet Professor Hobbs of the Westminster bone marrow team to discuss future funding of the project;
(2) how much his Department has given to the Westminster bone marrow team since 1970; and if he plans to allocate more resources to this team;
(3) what is the average cost of a bone marrow transplant; and how this compares with the cost of caring for such patients by other means;
(4) if he will estimate how many children would benefit from a bone marrow transplant;
(5) if his Department has a working party looking at bone marrow transplantation; and, if so, if it intends to invite witnesses to attend any of its meetings or to submit evidence.
