§ Mr. Mayhew[pursuant to his reply, 20 November 1981, c. 248]: The numbers of persons convicted of murder who have been released during the last decade from prisons in England and Wales, including persons detained during Her Majesty's Pleasure under section 53(1) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933, but excluding persons who previously had been released on licence and subsequently recalled to prison, are as follows:
