§ Mr. Strawasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether, pursuant to the answer of his hon. Friend the Minister of State, Department of Trade on 15 December 1980, Official Report, c. 49–50, the European Economic Community Commission initiative on textile imports from the United States of America has failed, or in what respects it has been successful; and whether he is now giving consideration to action under article XIX of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, or by other means.
