§ Mr. Cookasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total yield from the present duty on paraffin; and whether he has any estimate of the number of consumers from which it is obtained.
§ Mr. Peter Rees[pursuant to his reply, 7 April 1981, c. 220]: Paraffin is a term used imprecisely to describe kerosene or types of kerosene. The total yield of the duty on kerosene—other than aviation fuel—was about £6 million in 1980. The number of consumers is not known.
