§ Mr. Jim Lester[pursuant to his reply, 29 October 1980, c. 223]: Unemployment percentage rates are not calculated for school leavers. At 9 October there were 5,762 unemployed school leavers under 18 years of age in the Liverpool travel-to-work area and 8,245 in the Merseyside special development area. They represented 7.9 and 8.1 per cent., respectively, of all those registered as unemployed in these areas. The figures are provisional.
