HC Deb 27 October 1980 vol 991 c77W
Mr. Robert Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many instances of overstaying have been recorded by the Home Office data bank computer since the commencement of preliminary running on 1 May; and what action has been taken in such cases.

Mr. Raison:

The new system became operational on 1 August. It is too early for worthwhile statistical information to emerge. The arrangements for following up reports of overstaying are unchanged.
